Ballon d’Or: De Bruyne snubs Ronaldo & Messi, names player who should win award
Manchester City playmaker, Kevin de Bruyne, has snubbed Ronaldo & Messi and named Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski as his favourite to win the 2021 Ballon d’ Or.
De Bruyne said this during a press conference on Monday
However, ahead of Man City’s Champions League clash with Club Brugge on Tuesday evening.
Lewandowski was named among the 30-man nominees for the 2021 Ballon d’ Or.
The Polish striker will rival Jorginho, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and among others for the Ballon d’ Or.
“If I have to choose, I’m looking at the two-year period”
“So I would choose [Robert] Lewandowski for what he has done the last two years, goal-scoring wise.
“He would be my pick,” De Bruyne said.
Lewandowski scored 75 goals in 60 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern Munich since the 2019/20 season.
The winner for this year’s Ballon’d Or will be announced on November 29.
