Official: Manchester United confirm transfer of Brazilian star
Manchester United has confirmed the season-long loan move of Alex Telles to the Spanish side Sevilla.
The 29-year-old joined the Reds from FC Porto in October 2020, and he has registered 50 appearances in two campaigns while competing with Luke Shaw for the left-back position.
Telles has also scored one goal as a Red: a sensational volley against Villarreal at Old Trafford that was later voted the Champions League’s third-best Goal of the Season by visitors to UEFA.com.
Telles fell down the pecking order at Manchester United to third-choice left-back following the arrival of Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord this summer.
Telles leaves United with everybody’s best wishes for the campaign to come and Reds supporters will be following Sevilla’s results from afar.
Official statement from Sevilla website
Sevilla FC and Manchester United FC have reached an agreement for the season-long loan of Alex Telles.
The left-back joined the Red Devils in October 2020 and has made a half-century of appearances for the club, scoring a solitary goal, a volley from outside the area in a UEFA Champions League match against Villarreal.
The 29-year-old made his professional debut back in January 2011, as he made his debut for his hometown club Juventude, from Caxias do Sul in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
