Sancho and Varane are NOT enough – Gary Neville disclosed new signing

Gary Neville believes Man Utd signing Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane are not enough for the team.

However, he huge United to sign more players especially Harry Kane who could made them complete for trophy.

He told Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football:

Sancho and Varane are NOT enough - Gary Neville disclosed ‘My gut feeling is that they (Sancho and Varane) won’t have the same impact as Van Dijk and Alisson to 95 points to win the league. I still think they’ll be short.

‘Chelsea have strengthened with (Romelu) Lukaku, Man City in for (Jack) Grealish and if they get Kane there’s a massive problem for Man Utd.

‘I don’t know why Man United aren’t going that extra step this transfer window.

They’ve always gone after the best English player in the Premier League historically.

With Martial, James, Lingard potentially offloaded, why aren’t they going in for Harry Kane?

‘If Harry Kane entered Man Utd you get to 94, 95 points, they still have to replace Cavani and Martial.

Martial is not up to it, Cavani’s getting on.

Why not get the man now? I don’t know if they can win the league with Sancho and Varane.’

The former Manchester United defender added:

‘There’s a massive expectation to be winning trophies, to be No 1. They have to challenge for the title.

‘But in general, if City go and get Kane and what Chelsea have done with Lukaku and with Van Dijk returning

they need to get something different.

‘If the other teams have better players they have to react.

Man United can improve this season and go from second to fourth because other teams have gone like that (moves hand in upward motion).

Why are you laughing at me (to Jamie Carragher)?’

The former Liverpool defender claimed United would win the league if the managers of their rivals

Sancho and Varane are NOT enough - Gary Neville disclosed

Pep Guardiola and Thomas Tuchel – managed this group of Red Devils players.

‘Whenever I listen to Gary or Roy (Keane) the answer is always go and spend £100m.

It’s always what I hear on the show,’ said Carragher.

‘You see Chelsea getting Lukaku and a good start to the season, saying it’s going to be them or City.

Man United finished above both of them in the table.

‘I don’t see how Man Utd can’t compete. If Pep Guardiola and Thomas Tuchel had Man Utd’s squad they would win the league.

‘You’re comparing Liverpool to United,

why not compare them to City or Chelsea? Liverpool didn’t have the revenues to compete right away.’

Neville, meanwhile, went on to claim that Solskjaer is under pressure to deliver this season but maintained the view that Kane would go on to help the club’s bid.

‘The manager has to improve it himself quickly,’ he said.

‘The Europa League final was a bad one

that is going to hang a little bit if something doesn’t go right this season.

‘Ole deserves another 12 to 18 months, United tried getting Jose Mourinho with the quick job and it hasn’t worked.

Louis Van Gaal changing the style of play, hasn’t worked.

‘They’ve taken it back to their roots, but Man Utd need a centre forward in the next 12 months

they must go out and spend £150m.

‘Mata and Lingard, they could do without them at the club. Kane coming in would be the differentiator.’
