Manchester United were often criticised for easily getting penalties last season, and it got managers like Jurgen Klopp talking about it. But then, they were sure penalty calls.

Surprisingly, Manchester United have missed out on so many penalty decisions this season that were very clear even to the blind.

Against West Ham in the Premier League last weekend, United should have gotten at least two penalties but ended up with none given on Cristiano Ronaldo.

It was the same story against West Ham in the League Cup game on Wednesday night.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has blamed Klopp for the reason behind the referee’s decisions not to award Manchester United a penalty, even when it’s so clear cut.

Klopp said ahead of meeting Manchester United last season;

“We cannot change. I hear now that Man United had more penalties in two years than I had in five-and-a-half years”

“I’ve no idea if that’s my fault, or how that can happen.”

Solskjaer has now recently attacked Klopp and believes his comments from last season has had an effect on the referees.

“We just have to hope we get what we deserve, we should have had three pens in the last two games”

“there was a certain manager who worried about us getting pens last year and after that the decisions were different to give,” Solskjaer told the media ahead of facing Aston Villa this weekend.

“I’ve seen a big difference since then on. You just have to leave it to the refs and hope they make the right calls very soon.”
